Governor Corbett and Tom Wolf will be in town for a debate hosted by KYW at their studios at 16th Street and Hamilton (one block below Spring Garden). It is being held in a closed radio studio and aired live as “Breakfast with the Candidates” via KYW Newsradio, 1060 AM at 8 a.m.
Gathering at 7:30 a.m. outside KYW, we will be praying. Not for the debate. But for a Governor and a state government that funds public education fairly and fully.
In a governor’s race full of finger pointing and partisan battles, we want to be the voice of faith that says no matter who wins the election, these men’s decisions will impact hundreds of thousands of lives in our city, and across this state.
Organized by the Education Strategy Team, POWER will host a “Pray-In” outside the debate to lift up the need for moral leadership and to emphasize that voting is a sacred act. We will also pray that both candidates prioritize a long-term solution to school funding crises through a fully funded formula for public education.
Join us on October 1 at 7:30 AM (note: this is a change of time from our earlier notice — 12 hours earlier!) for the Pray-In.
Meet outside KYW building at 16th and Hamilton (one block south of Spring Garden).
Parking available at Congregation Rodeph Shalom between Green and Mt. Vernon St (off Broad St).
AND MICHAEL WILL TREAT ANY OLD FIRSTERS WHO SHOW UP TO BREAKFAST AFTERWARDS!
