Second P-dialer Canvass: Another 153 unlikely voters committed to going to the polls on Nov. 4

Second P-dialer Canvass: Another 153 unlikely voters committed to going to the polls on Nov. 4

Just a quick thanks to everyone for coming out on Wednesday to the second (and last) Old First-St. Malachy’s P-Dialer Phone Bank.

It was great fun to collaborate with and get to know each other from the two congregations. And of course, we continue to practice with the predictive dialer setup – thanks again for everyone’s flexibility amidst problems that arose!

I am excited to report that in just those couple hours, our two congregations collectively made 681 attempted calls and got 153 commitments to vote (126 – Old First ; 27 – St. Malachy’s)! {Michael’s editorial comment: that’s the exact number of fish the disciples caught when Jesus suggested they cast their nets to the other side.}These numbers are huge compared to phone banks that we held in the spring, and at least for Old First, helped us SURPASS OUR GOAL of getting 200 voter commitments for this fall’s campaign — Hooray!

Next, Mimi or Hannah will follow up to let Old First-ers know about plans to make follow-up calls to committed voters the weekend before the election.

Until then, a big THANK YOU to all who helped out!! We’re doing our part to get more people paying attention, involved and voting.

Remember our other question: Do you believe that our elected officials should make funding our public schools fairly one of their priorities?
