Yes, it sounds an awful lot like our tagline #LoveFirst. Go figure!
But notice their is an apostrophe on Jesus and an “s” on First.
The lectionary offers a series of Gospel readings for this Epiphany season that can be understood as “Jesus’ Firsts.” As in: Jesus’ First Miracle, Jesus’ First Ministry, Jesus’ First Rejection, Jesus’ First Disciples. We’re going to focus in this longer than usual Epiphany season (Ash Wednesday isn’t until March 6) on these Jesus’ First experiences.
Maybe such a focus this season will help us sort out our priorities better.
