Pastor’s note: When I read Jillian’s post the other day, I thought to myself: How prescient and precise. She nailed an E-pistle in just a few words!” Jillian has given me permission to share what she wrote:
“Yesterday Sasha fell asleep on a bike ride to West Philly and her very beloved almost too small rainbow rain boot slipped off her foot somewhere between West and North.
With summer ending and the new school year starting, I found it really hard to let go of this one more tiny thing. So this morning before our first day of faculty meetings, I biked to West Philly and back, making one final hopeless sweep for it. Many thanks to Michael Noda for humoring me.
And right as I was about to give up and start recasting the whole trip as a bizarre mourning ritual, it was right there on the ground behind the art museum.
May you, too, find small things you thought were lost forever as we begin another pandemic school year.”
