The Chalice Choir from St. John’s Lutheran Church, Nazareth, PA, will sing for us on Sunday, May 6 during the regular 11 am worship service. Be sure to arrive a little early to enjoy an extended choral prelude beginning at 10:50 am.
The Chalice Choir is a singing choir for youth in grades 7 to 12. Learning a wide range of anthems and songs, this group brings a refreshing spirit and sound as they praise God in song. Many of the youth are also involved in their high school choirs, bands, and musicals. In addition to singing at St. John’s, the choir has also taken trips to Philadelphia and New York City to sing for churches and retirement communities. Over the past several years they have taken extended trips to Washington D.C. and Boston. Their director is Rev. Janice Butz, sister of Old First’s former pastor, Rev. Geneva Butz.
