Perhaps you are missing preparing dinner at the men’s shelter or volunteering at the Saturday Cupboard is too early of a commitment for you. Below you will find a list of agencies that are seeking volunteers to help out over the summer. Age limits are listed, so you can plan an event for the whole family!
Cradles to Crayons (all ages)
Volunteers sort through clothing donations and then put in bins separated by size, gender, and style. Other donations include school supplies, baby items, games and hygiene items.

Broad Street Ministry (ages 12+)
Volunteers assist with Breaking Bread meal service Tuesday and Wednesday 3-6pm, Thursday and Saturday 10:30-1:30pm. Volunteers help to serve the meal, clean up afterward, distribute personal care and clothing items to the guests. BSM serves between 100-300 people per meal, volunteers are always appreciated.

Chosen 300 (ages 12+)
Volunteers assist with set up and serving a meal (lunch or dinner).

Gift of Life House (all ages)
Volunteers plan and prepare a meal for the families who are staying there waiting for transplants. Alternately, you can plan a baking day and use their kitchen to prepare dozens of homebaked items to be distributed to the families that are staying there. Volunteers provide all food items.

Bethesda Project (ages vary depending on location)
Volunteers can prepare meals for the residential homes, organize bingo or other board game days, or help out around any of the facilities.
