Thanking Andrew C. for Years of Yard Work — And Seeking His Successor

Andrew volunteered 4 or 5 years ago to come over and cut the grass. He explained when he first offered that he likes doing yard work, and as an apartment-dweller…

Well, we have to say thank God and thank you to Andrew. For these past years, Andrew starts in the Spring, and just keeps coming over every week or so until the end of the growing season, to keep the grass cut and the weeds pulled and the edges edged! Innumerable hours quietly dedicated to keeping the church looking good. And a great savings on the lawn service that we have not had to pay for. One of the quiet saints toiling among us…

Unfortunately, Andrew is so busy with his business (he runs a model train retail business) that he cannot care for our yard this year. That may be a good thing for him. But we don’t want to let him go without making some big deal and saying thank you! And if you see him in church, maybe you could thank him for us in person!

And, since this arrangement has worked so well, let us ask if there is another volunteer out there who would like to take up this role as service to our church? The church has the tools you need, including an electric lawnmower. The grass needs trimming every 1 to 2 weeks, depending on the time of the season. If you are interested or need more information, we’d love to hear from you — please speak with Michael or Woody.
