We live in a world of abundance and have so much that we can be joyful for. God does not fail to provide for us when we are in need in one way or another. Let’s consider in our hearts how God is calling us to share our own resources with those in need this Christmas season. One way is through giving to the UCC Christmas Fund Offering which goes toward assisting our serving and retired clergy as well as lay workers who have served our denomination over the years. As God has used these dedicated and faithful people to service the church, now the church has the opportunity to serve them in return. Let each of us give generously as we are able.
The Christmas Fund for Veterans of the Cross and the Emergency Fund
Gifts assist United Church of Christ ministers and lay church employees who are presently serving in ministry or have retired. Assistance for retirees comes in the form of supplementation to small pensions or health benefit premiums as well as “Thank You” gift checks at Christmastime. Active and retired members may receive an emergency grant to assist with an unexpected and burdensome expense throughout the year. Donate to the Emergency Fund or by using the purple envelope found in your pew during Sunday Morning Worship.
Ministerial Assistance Fund
Gifts assist the United Church Board for Ministerial Assistance, Inc. to bridge financial needs of those who serve the church – retirees, those serving new church starts, younger pastors beginning their ministries, and those facing circumstantial hardships. Donate to the Ministerial Emergency Fund or by using the purple envelope found in your pew during Sunday Morning Worship.
