The animals interacted with more people this year. Christmas Eve service was full of folks we hardly knew. And the crowds, particularly on nice weather days, have been generous. But the animals were also out and about this year — on an almost daily walking tour of Old City. They ran into a lot of folks as they strolled down 3rd and 4th and Arch and Market and Race. The most common reaction, “Oh my gosh, I though you were walking a dog.” Michael still wonders how, even from a block away, one could mistake a cow and a donkey for a dog!
But they go home this Monday morning, December 30. We like to get them off our busy street corner and back to the relative quiet of their farm before the festivities of New Year’s Eve.
So stop by and wish them well. Maybe even thank them for the ministry they’ve helped us with!
And speak with Mark W. or Keith H. if you want to help take down the Creche on Saturday, January 4.
