The Worship Program Year Ends with 2 Sundays of Thanksgiving & Celebration — 06.05 / 06.12

Week in and week out, there are folks with some of the highest volunteer time commitments that keep some of our basic ministries going. I’m talking about our Sunday School Teachers and our Choir Members. They are among the Old Firsters with weekly volunteer commitments. At the e11 nd of each program year, before we move into our earlier and lighter summer schedule, we take the time to thank them and celebrate the ministries they have contributed so much to.

June 5 in 11 am worship we will give thanks for our Sunday School teachers and students and all the learning and love, the energy and the church they have helped us with. The Children will lead worship and offer communion. We will get a sense of what the kids have accomplished, and maybe even hear what the teachers learned this year.

June 12 in 11 am worship we will give thanks for our Choir, Artist in Residence and music ministry. The service will showcase some of the musical gifts of this church before we move to the earlier, summer worship services at 10 am where in stead of the choir, we will have individual artists and small groups providing some of the service music. (If you are one of those potential musicians, please make yourself known to Holly — special music is open to choir members of course, but also to many of the many, other Old Firsters who have musical gifts to share…)

Summer Sundays get crowded and busy, but I hope you will come out these two Sundays to say a special thank-you to these “super volunteers” who give so much time and effort towards making our ministries all that they are.

See you in church,

Michael
