Updates from the Sanctuary Enhancement/Accessibility Committee

We want to take a minute to thank all of you for your contributions to the work on the Sanctuary, your helpful input, and visits to see the space.

We are about to start a new step in the work. The Sanctuary has been painted, and it looks great! Some of you have seen it in person and some have seen pictures. The painters have removed all their scaffolding. All of the carpet is now gone. The pews have been removed from the Sanctuary space, although some have been saved and stored in the narthex area. Chairs have been ordered, as well.

We should get a building permit next week and can begin carpentry to build the new chancel with ramps for accessibility. A new access point for the attic and attic ladder will be installed. We’ll be building new rooms to store music. And, the glass doors for the front of the church will be ordered and installed in the coming months.

We are still working on lighting and electrical plans and many other details. It’s a lot of work, but things are moving forward and it is very exciting!

Thank you again for all you have done to make this possible.

Faithfully,  S.E.A.C.
