It’s time to invite people to join us for Christmas. Because our services welcome and uplift and give people hope. And who wants to be alone on Christmas. Take a minute now and think to yourself: who might really like to be invited to join us at Old First?
It’s the easiest time to extend an invitation to worship: “Hey, I’ll be going to church on Christmas Eve/Christmas. Maybe you’d like to come with me? It’s such a lovely service every year.” (You can then go on and explain, why it’s special and what it means for you:
~ the animals and the people at the Creche;
~ the candle lighting while we sing Silent Night;
~ the Brass as you enter the church for the 8 p.m. service;
~ following the donkey around Old City for the 5 p.m. service;
~ the way people wish one another Merry Christmas as they leave church…
To make it easier, we even have a print-out with all the services. You could give it to the person you invite. (Or post it on some community bulletin board!).
