The summer weeks are fewer and fewer in number. We’re school shopping, getting in last minute get-away-weekends, checking off all those projects we planned to tackle over the summer, and preparing for the new season.
Our worship service will move back to 11 am the Sunday after Labor Day, Sept. 11.
When we begin again, we hope you will consider strengthening your faith by participating in worship at Old First. We need more lectors, more liturgists, more folks to help with hospitality. If you offer to help once a month, that makes a big difference in our schedule, and doesn’t require you to go anywhere outside of your ordinary worship routine. You can look over the worship leader schedule on-line at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0e48aaae2fa31-worship. Worship leaders receive information, usually on Friday so that they can prepare for the Sunday service. Pastor Michael is a big help and will walk you through everything and help you feel at ease.
Our hospitality hosts do come a bit early to begin their set up and stay a little later to clean up. But it gives you a great chance to get to know other congregation members, and its fun. We don’t require great eats, just some simple snacks to enrich our fellowship time.
Email the office to join a hospitality team, firstname.lastname@example.org. Teams serve once every 8 weeks.
These are two ways that you can deepen relationships with others at Old First and share with others the gifts that God has given you.
