I have been living in Philadelphia since 2011 when I moved here after graduating from Bryn Mawr College, where I studied religion. I have since been an AmeriCorps VISTA for two years with the Mayor’s Office of Civic Engagement and Volunteer Service, and outside of work have been involved with activism related to mass incarceration. Over the past two years I have learned much about government and non-profit work and also about what motivates and moves me.
I am excited by seeing the great things that can happen when faith communities comes together across race, class, and religious lines to advocate for racial and economic justice, and am particularly interested in how spiritual practice and scriptural insight can lend resilience and strength to activism. I look forward to immersing myself in P.O.W.E.R’s work, deepening my spiritual life with Old First, and getting to know all of you.
