With the changing seasons and coming cooler weather, we thought it would be fun to do a Young Adult’s outing at a nearby pumpkin patch.
The young adults are going to go to the Sleepy Hollow Pumpkin Patch at Active Acres Farm in Newtown on Saturday, October 26. For $10, we can take a hayride, pick any sized pumpkin, and get lost in a corn maze.
We are going to meet at Old First at 11 a.m., and carpool to the farm. Please get in touch with Jonathan Atwood, if you are going, so that we know how many cars we need to coordinate. (If you need contact info. for him, please check with Mindy in the church office.)
Traditionally, the young adults at Old First have been understood to be the people active in church who are between 20 and 35 years old. But as with all our fellowship groups — because it’s church — anyone who wishes to join is welcome.
On another note: Jonathan Atwood has agreed to serve as a facilitator for the Young Adults fellowship activities. That doesn’t mean he needs to organize them, or even be at all them!
But Michael realized that two of our fellowship groups, the Young Adults and the Gay Men’s Night Out, without anyone really “in charge” often depend on his initiating their next gathering. With too many things to do himself that sometimes has left either fellowship waiting on Michael. So he was very happy that Jonathan has agreed. If someone among the young adults has any ideas or wants to plan a future event, please speak with Jonathan.
And Michael would welcome it if one of the G.M.N.O. participants wants to step up to facilitate too…
