The Young Disciples, our Middle School Youth Group, will gather at its regularly scheduled time, Sat., March 9 at 6 p.m. in the Fox Building.
Their program this time will be to begin preparing our Cascarones for Easter. The young people will be dying the eggs (unboiled), then opening them to pour out the yolk and egg whites (which we will use to make the Egg Casseroles for the Easter breakfast), and then wash them out.
Both Adam and Elizabeth, who help Michael with the Young Disciples, will be leading the kids, while they work, on reflecting on the meanings of empty tombs, new life and God’s grace exploding in the world.
The Senior High youth group are going to find a time to finish the Cascarones before Easter– specifically filling them with confetti and sealing them with tissue paper.
Our Easter celebration will again include the ritual acting out of Jesus resurrection in the good-luck wishing of “cracking” a Cascarone over someone else’s head…
