Over the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend, Old First youth will enjoy a mission trip to New York City. They will stay at Riverside Church, serve in two soup kitchens, worship at a UCC church on Sunday morning, and attend the MLK, Jr. concert at Riverside. They’ll find time to take in some NYC tourist sights, too! Pastor Michael Caine, Beth Davis and Cody Long will accompany them. Keep them in your prayers.
A group from Old First will also be “mission visiting” one of our own, Minister Dave Reppert, to support him and the congregation he is serving, Emanuel UCC/Bridesburg.
Which all means that there’s more reason to be at church at Old First this Sunday– to hear another of our own preachers, the Rev. Bob Polk, who will be our guest preacher. To receive the blessing of Old First, but also to share it– when others are away, your welcoming, supporting presence is even more important, especially for the guests who might show up.
And don’t think that church at Old First is cancelled: the Rev. Bob Polk will be our guest preacher.)
