The Bible paints a rich picture of God and what God is doing in our world, a picture in which we may find ourselves and the world around us. Studying the Bible together allows us to explore that picture of God among us, to share insights with one another, to learn the ways of God, to see God and the world — and ourselves– in a new light.
The format is also flexible. The group will select passages to discuss together, to learn from each other. Maybe your “chilling” period during the COVID-19 precautions could be used to learn more about the Bible?
Come, join an online Bible study group led by Bob Robinson on Wednesday of each week. (Bob, as well as a member of our church, is the retired professor of Old Testament from Lutheran Seminary here in Philadelphia.) The study will happen in Old First’s GatheringSpace / Zoom room, which you can access from the church’s website (as you do for worship on Sundays). The first meeting will be this coming Wednesday, May 13 at 1 pm. (The group may decide to change the meeting time, and if you are interested, but can’t make the 1 pm time, please let Bob know — his e-mail is firstname.lastname@example.org ).
